Itinerary

DAY 1: ZAGREB

Arriving to Zagreb in the morning, the capital and biggest city of Croatia. After meeting with your guide and accommodating in hotel we will have a pleasant walk in the city centre, visiting Zagreb’s most memorable sights, such as the beautiful historical old town, Government Palace and Cathedral, and getting the first impression of the capital. Overnight in Zagreb.

DAY 2: OFF TO SERBIA

After the breakfast we will departure to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia which you’ll absolutely admire from the first moment. After check-in in the hotel we will go on an orientation city tour where you’ll see the main sights and get the impression of Belgrade culture, people, atmosphere and also cuisine. Dinner and overnight in Belgrade.

DAY 3: BELGRADE

In the morning we will have a walk to the main cultural and architectural sights of Belgrade, some of the most memorable attractions in Balkan: Kalemegdan Fortress, Slavija square, Belgrade Palace and much more. The evening will be free for the night exploration of the city and tasting the real Serbian dishes.

DAY 4: FROM BELGRADE TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

After the breakfast in the morning we will departure to the next gorgeous city – Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia. After the arrival and the check-in we will go to a sightseeing tour in the old part and get the real taste of the Sarajevo cuisine. Overnight in Sarajevo.

DAY 5: SARAJEVO

In the morning we will enjoy the beautiful and unique places of Sarajevo, which joins together different religions and cultures and which hardly survived the difficult years of the war time. We will see the Jewish quarter, old part Bascarsija, war tunnel and many other sights. During the day you’ll have the possibility to see the real culture of Sarajevo in Cevapdzinica, Bosnian typical bistro. Overnight in Sarajevo.

DAY 6: THROUGH MOSTAR TO DUBROVNIK

After saying goodbye to Sarajevo we will soon departure to Mostar and explore the beauties of the city, which was devastated by the war but the reconstruction brought the city back to life. We will admire the breath-taking bridge over Neretva, which collapsed during the war but was later rebuild, the Old Bazaar, the Turkish House and many fascinating mosques. After visiting Mostar we will travel to Dubrovnik where we will arrive late in the evening. Overnight in the hotel.

DAY 7: A TASTE OF MONTENEGRO

The seventh day of the tour is reserved for the most breath-taking Adriatic town, which is included in UNESCO World Heritage Site list – Dubrovnik. After the breakfast in the hotel we will take a walk in the ancient city, full of architectural and cultural masterpieces and surrounded by a magnificent wall and fortresses. After lunch we will visit an impressive small medieval city Kotor in Montenegro, known for its beautiful Venetian historical Old town, harbour and cultural monuments. After getting back to Dubrovnik late in the evening will be free for night sightseeing, tasting the food and feeling the nightlife.

DAY 8: STON

After the breakfast in the hotel we will continue our Balkan trip to Ston, historical small Adriatic city, built in the 14th Century. The city is surrounded by a 12 km long city wall, which is the second longest wall in the World, and was build to protect the famous Ston salt plants. The oldest salt plants in Europe are still in use and its production technology hasn’t changed for centuries. In the late afternoon we will departure to Split and have an evening walk in the city centre. Overnight in one o the Split hotels.

DAY 9: SPLIT

In the morning we will go on a walking tour in Split, the second largest Croatian city, situated on the shore of Adriatic Sea. The historical centre is full of beautiful monuments: Diocletian’s Palace (UNESCO), the Cathedral, medieval fortifications, Gothic palaces and more. After the lunch we will visit Trogir, the picturesque UNESCO town built on the small island. After the walk through the small antique streets we will departure to Sibenik. Arrival to Sibenik and dinner in one of the hotels.

DAY 10: FROM DALMATIA TO PLITVICE LAKES

In the morning you will have the possibility to explore the beauties and culture of Sibenik; the famous Cathedral of St. James, build in the 4th Century, St. Laurence’s garden, Town Hall, the port and more. Afterwards we will visit a unique natural wonder – Plitvice Lakes National Park where you will enjoy the breathtaking scenery of 16 terraced lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Late in the afternoon we will head to the next Adriatic destination – Opatija. After the check-in in the hotel we will do an evening city tour to explore the city.

DAY 11: ISTRIA

After the breakfast we will walk through Opatija and admire the historical villas, which were built in the 19th century by the Austro-Hungarian noblemen as their Mediterranean residence. Even today you can still feel the style and elegance of the city. After the lunch we will drive to Rovinj, a picturesque Istrian town with amazing Venetian architecture and seaside promenade. In the evening we will go to Portoroz, situated on the coast of Slovenia. After the check-in in the hotel you will have free time to explore the nightlife and typical Slovenian dishes.

DAY 12: SLOVENIAN COAST

After a relaxing morning we will departure to Piran, a small and gorgeous fisherman’s town, a pearl of the Slovenian coast. We will walk through the old streets and you will have some free time to relax on the sea side or to enjoy the tastes of the fresh sea food. In the late afternoon we will visit Koper, the biggest town on the Slovenian cost, known for its promenade and ancient narrow streets. We will return to Portoroz where we will have free time to enjoy the evening.

DAY 13: KARST AND LJUBLJANA

In the morning we will go from Portoroz to Lipica, the homeland of the white Lipizzaner horse where we will learn about ‘dancing horses’ and find a typical Karst restaurant nearby to taste famous Karst prosciutto and Teran wine. After a relaxing day in the nature we will continue explore UNESCO Skocjan caves with amazing rock formations and then later head on to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. We will go on a city tour that consists of a walk around the old city centre and a tourist train ride to the castle hill, known for its outlook tower with a beautiful panoramic view of the city.Overnight in Ljubljana.

DAY 14: HOME AWAITS

After two weeks of Balkan road tripping we will head from Ljubljana back to Zagreb airport where we will finish the tour.
