Quick Overview
A cross section of Turkey’s historical, cultural, religious, and scenic wonders: After visiting Istanbul’s most famed attractions, you will find yourself in the other-worldly landscape of Cappadocia, once a sanctuary of the early Christians. Then it’s on to Konya, home of the “Whirling Dervishes”, the remarkably well-preserved treasures of Ephesus.
Itinerary
Day 1 (Saturday) Depart from your home country
Day 2 (Sunday) Arrival in Istanbul
Arrival to Istanbul, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure
Day 3 (Monday) Take morning Flight to Kayseri Full day Cappadocia Tour
An impressive day will start with Dervent valley. Then we keep going on with Pasabag “fairy chimneys” where you can feel the mystic of Fairy Chimneys. We will break at Avanos center of terracotta art. Ceramic art dated back to the 3000 BC in the area and survived from to generations. A visit to ceramic & tile center to see how the ceramics made by hand. After lunch we visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum to see the best examples of Icons in Cappadocia. Soft rocks of Cappadocia from the clefts carved out to form stables, churches, and monasteries. We will enjoy the day by taking a look to the Goreme Valley from next to the Uchisar Rock-Castle. Proceed to Underground city of Ozkonak or Cardak. Stay overnight in Cappadocia Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Optional Turkish Night (In the evening join for the Traditional Turkish night to see folk and belly dancer in the cave restaurant).
Day 4 (Tuesday) CAPPADOCIA TO PAMUKKALE VIA KONYA
Today we will drive long distance from Cappadocia to Pamukkale but there is lovely scenery on the, first visit is 13th century Selcuk caravanserai “Sultanhan” keep driving to Konya once known as ICONIUM we are going to visit the Mevlana’s Mausoleum, the great mystic poet and Islamic spiritual leader, who founded the sect of ”Whirling Dervishes”. Stay Overnight in Pamukkale. Driving distance approximately eight hours. Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Day 5 (Wednesday) PAMUKKALE TO KUSADASI
Today free time to relax in the hotel until 11 AM View the Cotton Castle the unique white calcium waterfall; Lunch break; Hierapolis, an ancient health spa with the largest necropolis (cemetery) in the Ancient Turkey; remains of Hierapolis ancient city worth to see Overnight stay in Kusadasi. Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Day 6 (Thursday) EPHESUS TOUR Return To Istanbul
We will be starting with a visit to the Isa Bey Mosque from 14th Century, proceed to Ephesus Ancient City, Which dated back to the third millennium B.C the remains of this important city are standing miraculously today, vivid witnesses of a glorious past. Among the well-preserved ruins the theatre, Celsus Library, Agora, Odeon, Domitian’s Temple, Trajan Fountain, and Roman Latrine are the most remarkable. We will have a visit to carpet weaving demonstration to see how the Turkish carpet made by hand. In the afternoon visit House of Mother Mary on top of the mount of the Nightingale. House of mother Mary is spiritual place also believed that she spent recent years of her life. Then visit Temple of Artemis. It was one of the seven ancient Wonders of the World. Watch leather fashion show at one of the outlet center. Take Domestic Flight to Istanbul. Stay overnight in Istanbul. Breakfast Lunch
Day 7 (Friday) Byzantine and Ottoman Heritage Tour (2010 European Capital of Culture – UNESCO World Heritage Site)
After breakfast at your hotel, you begin a full day sightseeing tour of Istanbul. Highlights include a visit to the illustrious Topkapi Palace (harem section is optional), the ancient Roman Hippodrome (site of chariot races) and the Hagia Sophia, the Byzantine church that was converted to a mosque in 15th century. You will also visit the famed “Blue Mosque” and the Grand Bazaar, the world’s largest covered bazaar, where you’ll have free time to discover some of the nearly 4,000 tiny shops that line its maze of passageways.
