Quick Overview
This package combines an introduction to Greece’s legendary capital, Athens, and visits to Santorini and Mykonos, unquestionably the most popular of the Greek Islands. Both islands are located in the Cyclades. Mykonos is famous for its nonstop nightlife and wonderful beaches, while Santorini is best known it’s romantic atmosphere, spectacular sunsets and massive volcanic crater known as the caldera.
Traditional architecture, a beautiful coastline and panoramic views of the sea are some of the feature shared by these two islands. However, each offers a distinctive atmosphere that has attracted millions of visitors from around the world.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Athens
Upon your arrival at Athens airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2 – Athens
This morning’s sightseeing tour will introduce you to Athens. En route to the legendary Acropolis, you’ll pass many major monuments and museums, including the Museum of Cycladic Art, Byzantine Museum, National Gallery, Zappeion Garden, and Hadrian’s Arch. Also on the route is St. Paul’s Church, Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Constitution (Syntagma) Square, the Catholic Cathedral, University, Academy, National Library and other landmarks. After your walking tour of the Acropolis, you’ll visit Panathinaiko Stadium, where the first contemporary Olympic Games took place in 1896, and the Temple of Olympian Zeus are included. The rest of the day is free for Independent activities. Overnight stay in Athens. (B)
Day 3 – Athens to Mykonos
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the nearby port of Piraeus, where you embark the Blue Star boat to Mykonos. Upon arrival in Mykonos, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Mykonos. (B)
Day 4 – Mykonos
A full day at leisure. Stroll through town, shop, or just relax and enjoy the scene. Cap off your visit at one of the island’s host of nightspots. Overnight in Mykonos. (B)
Day 5 – Mykonos to Santorini
Early this morning, you’ll be transferred to Mykonos port and board another Blue Star boat to Santorini. Again, you’ll be met upon arrival, and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Santorini. (B)
Day 6 – Santorini
Enjoy a day at leisure on this dramatically beautiful island. Virtually everywhere you look, you’ll find a great photo subject. And don’t miss the unforgettable sunset. Overnight in Santorini. (B)
Day 7 – Santorini to Athens
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Santorini Airport, where you board a short flight to Athens. Then it’s homeward bound or you can extend your stay in Greece with one of our short stay packages. (B)
