Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Cairo
Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, our representative will meet you and assist you through the entry formalities, and transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of day is at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2 – Giza, Cairo
After breakfast, you proceed to the Giza Plateau to visit one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus. You’ll also see the legendary Sphinx, varying and the Valley Temple facing the great statue. Afterwards, you head back to Cairo to visit the famed Egyptian Museum. The museum houses over 165,000 priceless ancient Egyptian artifacts, but the treasures of King Tutankhamen are the major attraction. Your city tour continues with a visit to Papyrus Institute, where you will learn how the first paper is made, and the sprawling Khan El Khalili Bazaar. You’ll have time for some shopping and bargaining for souvenirs at the bazaar before you are driven back to your hotel. (B, L)
Day 3 – Alexandria
Today we motor to Alexandria, Egypt’s second largest city. The first stop is the Catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa, a Roman burial site which has a family tomb that shows the merger of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture. Then we continue to “Pompey’s Pillar”, a 25 meter (82ft) granite column built to honor the Roman Emperor Diocletian who freed the besieged city and brought food to its starving people. The next site on our tour is the Roman Amphitheater, perhaps, the best preserved Roman site in Egypt. After lunch, we visit the famed Alexandria Library. Rebuilt in a striking contemporary style, the library houses over 4.2 million books published throughout through the centuries and the number is continually growing. Overnight in Alexandria.(B,L)
Day 4- Alexandria- Cairo
After breakfast drive back to Cairo. Free day to enjoy old town. (OPTIONAL: In the evening we can arrange an exclusive nile dinner on a sailing boat with traditional show.)
Day 5- Cairo City Tour
after breakfast pick up from your hotel for a full day city tour. You will visit Egyptian Museum in the morning. After lunch you visit the Mohammed Ali Citadel, The Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali then you will go to old Khan El Khalili bazaar. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the hotel for overnight. (B,L)
Day 6 – Departure from Cairo
Free until you are transferred to the airport. (B)
