ITINERARY
Day 1 Depart from USA
Day 2 Departure from Athens to Meteora
Pick up from your hotel in Athens and departure towards Delfi. Individual visit to the museum and the site. Afternoon departure towards Kalambaka, near Meteora monasteries. O/N in Kalambaka.
Day 3 Greek mountains
Morning visit to two Meteora monasteries. Drive north to the picturesque village of Metsovo for coffee break. Continue to Ioanina lake and city. Afternoon at leisure, we recommend a boat ride to the island on Ioanina lake or simply to explore the old town of Ioanina and Ali Pasha fortress. O/N in Ioanina (B)
Day 4 Welcome to Albania
Drive on the highway to Igoumenitsa, one of the biggest ports in this part of Greece. Crossing the border and enter Albania. Arrival to the coastal city of Saranda and afternoon visit to Butrinti ancient site (guided tour). O/N in Saranda (B)
Day 5 The Albanian coastline
Morning drive along the picturesque Albanian coastline, with panoramic views of Ionian sea. Passing Llogara NP and drive towards the biggest Albanian port Durres. Coffee stop at Durres and continue to Albanian capital Tirana. Upon arrival in Tirana, a guided city tour will end this day. O/N in Tirana (B).
Day 6 Tirana, Kruje and welcome to Montenegro
After breakfast drive to the mountain town Kruje, with guided visit to the Skanderbeg castle and museum. Afternoon drive towards Montenegro, with coffee stop at Shkodra, once capital of the Illyrian kingdom and possibility to visit Rozafa castle. Photo stop by the famous Sveti Stefan island. O/N in Budva (B).
Day 7 Cetinje and Boka Kotorska to Dubrovnik
Morning drive towards Cetinje, the former capital of Montenegro. Recommended to visit is the National museum, Relief museum. Afternoon drive along Boka Kotorska bay with visit to Kotor.
Late afternoon crossing Montenegro – Croatian border and drop off at your hotel in Dubrovnik.
