Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Athens
Arrival at Athens International Airport, where our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2 – Corinth Canal, Nafplion, Mycenae, Olympia
After breakfast, we’ll travel by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal, where we’ll make a short stop. We’ll continue to drive on and will next visit the Theater of Epidaurus, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then we proceed to the Town of Nafplion, where we’ll have a short stop, before continuing on to Mycenae to visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. We continue our journey, traveling through the Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis, to Olympia, the “Cradle of the Olympic Games”. Overnight in Olympia. (B, D)
Day 3 – Olympia, Achaia, Bay of Corinth, Delphi
In the morning, we begin with a visit of the Archaeological Site with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium, and the Archaeological Museum. We will then continue our drive, traveling through the plains of Eliad and Achaia until we reach the magnificent bridge crossing the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Passing by the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos (Lepanto) and Itea, we arrive in Delphi, where we have diner and spend the night. (B, D)
Day 4 – Delphi, Kalambaka
This morning we’ll visit the archaeological site and the Museum of Delphi. Later, we depart via Amphissa, Lamia and Trikala, for Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora, We’ll have dinner and overnight here. (B, D)
Day 5 – Meteora, Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae, Athens
Today we have our long-awaited visit of Meteora, situated amid striking scenery, with the ageless monasteries perched on top of the huge rocks. Seemingly suspended between heaven and earth, and between time and space, the monasteries are the keepers of exquisite specimens of Byzantine Art. We return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, and Thermopylae, where we stop to visit the Leonidas Monument. Our arrival in Athens will be early in the evening. Overnight in Athens. (B)
Day 6 – Athens to Cairo
This morning you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. The balance of the day and evening is at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 7 – Giza Sightseeing
Meet in hotel lobby with the tour guide to begin the sightseeing excursion with a visit to Memphis, ancient capital of Egypt dating from 3100 BC which contains the beautiful representation of King Ramses II through his colossal statue. Then proceed to Sakkara to see the world-famous Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the oldest known of Egypt’s 107 Pyramids. At the Pyramids area, visit the Three Pyramids built for Pharaohs Cheops, Chephren & Mycerinus and the mysterious Sphinx. After tour transfer to hotel for overnight. (B, L)
Day 8 – Cairo- Nile Cruise to Luxor
Today, you will be transferred to Cairo airport for flight to Luxor meet with our representative and transfer to board the Nile Cruise. Embarkation before lunch. (B,L,D)
Day 9 – Luxor
Free time in the morning. Afternoon you will meet with your guide and depart to visit the Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. Stay overnight in Luxor. (B,L,D)
Day 10 – Luxor- The West Bank- Esna
Sail to Esna. Cross to the West Bank of the Nile to visit the Valley of Kings & Queens, a vast City of the dead where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of Pharaohs. Then proceed to the foot of the cliff to see the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman who ruled Egypt in Pharaonic History. Return back to cruise and evening at leisure. Overnight onboard cruise. (B, L, D)
Day 11 -Edfu- Kom Ombo- Aswan
Cruise sail to Edfu. On arrival visit the Temple of Horus, the largest and most complete preserved Temple combining Pharaonic and Greek architectures. The cruise sails to Kom Ombo & upon arrival visit The Temple of Sobek & Haroeris, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. The temple stands at a bend in the Nile where in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the river bank. Return to the cruise & Overnight onboard cruise. (B, L, D)
Day 12 – Aswan- Cairo
After breakfast disembark the cruise. Visit the high Dam, Philae Temple. Explore Elephantine island on felucca. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival meet and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in Cairo. (B,L)
Day 13 – Departure
Breakfast, checkout and per your international flight departure time meet for transfer to Cairo Airport. (B)
